About The Position

Quanex is seeking a Team Lead for its Thomasville, North Carolina team. The Team Lead leads a team to efficiently and safely produce quality parts that meet customer specifications while minimizing waste. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The role establishes daily production demand and staffing plans, monitors production and quality, supports workplace safety, and develops team members through rotation and training. The Team Lead works routinely with the Supervisor to address underperforming processes and develop action plans.

Requirements

• At least two years of experience in a high-production manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities and ability to teach and coach others.
• Good understanding of OSHA safety standards, SPC, and good manufacturing practices.

Responsibilities

• Establish daily demand and appropriate manpower plans.
• Perform pre-shift safety walk-throughs and interval safety audits.
• Establish team goals and communicate progress and results.
• Hold regular problem-solving meetings with teams.
• Audit the team to ensure operators and technicians perform daily work.
• Ensure proper balance and flow of work, making decisions to smooth workloads.
• Continuously monitor production processes.
• Meet routinely with the Supervisor to review underperforming processes and create action plans.
• Establish employee rotation and training cycles to support development and safety.
• Ensure thorough quality checks are completed.
• Follow safety procedures, rules, and guidelines, and notify the Supervisor about existing or potential safety issues.
