Part-Time Team Lead - Westfield, IN
About The Position
The Part-Time Team Lead (also described as a Deck Manager / Team Manager) leads swim-school operations on deck and in the pool. The role supervises, supports, and trains hourly staff; mentors swim instructors; helps deliver safe, engaging, high-quality lessons; and supports students and families. The employer provides training for candidates without aquatic experience, including preparation to become a certified swim professional and safety expert. The schedule includes consistent shifts on weekday afternoons or evenings and weekends, with opportunities to pick up additional hours. The position is physically active and involves being on your feet and in the water. Compensation is $16.50–$20.50 per hour, depending on experience, skills, and certifications.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have a passion for working with children.
- Bring positive energy, strong communication skills, and a natural leadership style.
- Enjoy helping others grow, including children learning in the water and new teammates.
- Be available for a consistent schedule that includes weekday afternoons or evenings and weekends.
- Be physically active and ready to be on your feet, in the water, and moving with purpose.
Responsibilities
- Lead the team on deck and in the pool by supervising, supporting, and training hourly staff and ensuring smooth class operations.
- Coach instructors and serve as a lead instructor, mentoring swim teachers to deliver safe, engaging, high-quality lessons.
- Observe and encourage student progress in the pool.
- Support families and help ensure customers feel confident and cared for.
- Assist with scheduling, performance evaluations, and enrollment goals.
- Model and enforce safety standards for staff and students.
