Requirements
- Associates Degree in Medical Secretarial Science, Health Information, or Medical Assistant Program or equivalent knowledge and experience required.
- Very good typing and/or word processing skills required.
- Must have basic knowledge of ICD9 and CPT Coding.
- Basic knowledge of Internet, Intranet, Word and Excel required.
- A minimum of 5 years of related work experience is required.
- Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.
Nice To Haves
- Certificate from an approved program with advanced courses in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology is preferred.
- Experience with Meditech Radiology and SpeechQ Voice Recognition System preferred.
- Supervisory and radiology experience preferred.
- Prior experience with Epic EMR and Nuance PowerScribe are prefered.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of duties both within and in support of Radiology Transcription Services.
- Provide immediate direction and supervision of assigned personnel including establishing work schedules and daily assignments, monitoring productivity and performance, provide staff development and continuing education.
- Identify and work to resolve various inter- and intra-departmental issues within the scope of own position responsibilities.
- Carry out the duties of the Radiology Transcription Editor role.
- Recommend strategies to optimize performance.
