About The Position

The Team Lead Programming and Machining leads and trains a team to achieve organizational goals and objectives. This role serves as the primary point of contact for team members, offering guidance and support to ensure projects and tasks are completed successfully. The position oversees team performance and day-to-day hydraulic cylinder assembly cell operations, while developing machining, fabrication, material utilization, and machine-tool maintenance processes. The role also promotes safety, quality, efficiency, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Establish clear workplace safety expectations, including PPE requirements and accident/incident reporting.
• Establish and maintain daily housekeeping and workplace organization standards.
• Set clear team goals and objectives aligned with organizational priorities.
• Manage department performance KPIs and deliver results in safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, support, coach, and train team members, helping them understand their responsibilities and continually improve their skills.
• Promote open dialogue and teamwork among colleagues.
• Monitor team progress and performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Delegate tasks and responsibilities appropriately while creating opportunities for team members’ skill development and growth.

• Maintain high-level programming proficiency for machining centers, lasers, and punches, and continue learning as technology advances.
• Develop and maintain KPIs to monitor and improve material utilization rates.
• Maintain expert-level proficiency in using necessary precision measuring devices.
• Develop and maintain a raw-material procurement and stocking program to ensure adequate production inventory.
• Manage daily hydraulic cylinder assembly cell operations according to the operating plan.
• Maintain working knowledge of fabrication technology, including laser cutting, plasma cutting, bending, shearing, and punching.
• Assist with developing and implementing fabrication process improvements to improve efficiency and material utilization and reduce scrap.
