About The Position

This role is for a Team Lead, Finishing at the St. Petersburg facility, which is the primary softgel development and manufacturing site in North America. The facility offers capabilities in lipid formulation development, pilot plant operations, liquid in bottle, and liquid fill hard shell encapsulation. It also houses a full-service analytical laboratory and has the capacity to produce over 18 billion softgels annually, serving over 100 global markets. The site manufactures Over the Counter (OTC), Prescription (Rx), Medical Device, Controlled Substance, and Dietary Supplement products, including those in non-gelatin based OptiShell® and Vegicaps®. The Team Lead, Finishing will perform quality inspections, operate and program cleaning, counting, and packaging machines, maintain documentation, handle materials, and ensure adherence to safety and regulatory requirements to maintain quality and efficiency in the finishing process. The shift is a rotating 12-hour schedule (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM EST) on a two-week cycle, with Week 1 including Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and Week 2 including Wednesday and Thursday. The position is 100% onsite in St. Petersburg, FL.

Requirements

• High School diploma required.
• Previous manufacturing experience and work in a Good Manufacturing Practice regulated industry required.
• PC literate; interpersonal and communication skills.
• PC skills encompass knowledge of Catalent’s software packages.
• Individual may be required to sit intermittently, stand regularly, walk regularly and consistently lift to 50 pounds; no lifting greater than 44.09 pounds without assistance, for a work period of up to 12-hours.
• Ability to push and/or pull on average 500 kg (approximately 1,100 pounds).
• Vision requirements include ability to differentiate color (Pass the Ishihara Color Vision Screening) and obtain 20/30 acuity in both far and near vision with or without corrective lenses. For Catalent’s in-house screening, the acceptable score is to identify at least 4 of 6 numbers in the circles.
• Demonstrable leadership experience at Catalent (including but not limited to participation in Catalent‑sponsored leadership programs such as NGGL, GOLD, LEAD Now, GM Excellence, and GROW) may be considered in place of external experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality inspections to identify and remove sub-standard softgels and foreign materials, following Standard Operating Procedures and current Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Operate and program machines for cleaning, counting, and packaging capsules; load sealed cartons for shipment staging.
• Accurately complete finishing process documentation: inspect, approve, or reject softgels and conduct re-inspections as needed.
• Handle and stage tray stacks for inspection or packaging; operate softgel washers, counting line machines, and scales.
• Operate softgel printing machines as needed; perform line clearances and clean empty trays for reuse.
• Package softgels in bulk, label cartons accurately, and transfer sealed cartons to the box room or warehouse.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures; maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Handle non-hazardous, hazardous, and Drug Enforcement Administration waste in compliance with regulations.
• Notify supervision of potential quality issues; participate in cross-training and perform tasks across departments as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.
