Finishing Maintenance Lead
About The Position
The Finishing Maintenance Lead is responsible for implementing equipment and/or process improvements, assisting maintenance staff with operational debug, training less experienced personnel, and collaborating with engineers on machine validation. This role requires the ability to conceptualize, design, build, and implement control systems and manufacturing equipment, working closely with the controls engineer to ensure documentation is current. The lead is expected to be a self-starter, requiring little to no supervision, and to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and original equipment manufacturers.
Requirements
- Report directly to the Controls Engineer or Maintenance Supervisor.
- Receive direction from the director of maintenance or plant manager(s) for emergency manufacturing and maintenance support.
- Effective use of PLC’s, servo or variable speed drives, camera technology, robotic technology.
- Effective team with suppliers and original equipment manufacturers.
- Assist maintenance staff in operational debug of machine controllers, motion systems, robotics, HMI’s, and all other related components.
- Utilize Tarkett standard techniques and approach.
- Train lesser experienced electricians and mechanics.
- Assist engineer in machine validation.
- Communicate with project team.
- Work closely with controls engineer.
- Attend technical training classes.
- Pass knowledge along to peers and/or electrical maintenance personnel.
- Be a self-starter, stay focused and on task with little or no supervision.
- Ability to conceptualize, design, build and implement simple to moderate control systems and manufacturing equipment.
Responsibilities
- Implement equipment and/or process improvements through the effective use of PLC’s, servo or variable speed drives, camera technology, robotic technology and any other resource(s) available.
- Daily communication and interface with suppliers, and effectively team with suppliers and original equipment manufacturers.
- Assist the maintenance staff in operational debug of machine controllers, motion systems, robotics, HMI’s, and all other related components in a timely and efficient manner utilizing Tarkett standard techniques and approach.
- Train lesser experienced electricians and mechanics, thus improving the overall department skills and abilities.
- Assist the appropriate engineer in machine validation, both internally and at the customer’s facility.
- Communicate with the project “team” to ensure a constant level of project awareness.
- Work closely with the controls engineer, who is responsible for ensuring all schematics and/or back up programs of PLC’s, HMI, camera systems, etc, are kept current and correct.
- Attend certain technical training classes, as deemed necessary by the Maintenance Supervisor, Controls Engineer or Director of Maintenance, and pass this knowledge along to peers and/or electrical maintenance personnel.
- Be a self-starter, stay focused and on task with little or no supervision.
- Conceptualize, design, build and implement simple to moderate control systems and manufacturing equipment.
