Finishing Maintenance Lead
About The Position
The Finishing Maintenance Lead will implement equipment and/or process improvements through the effective use of PLC’s, servo or variable speed drives, camera technology, robotic technology and any other resource(s) available. This role requires daily communication and interface with suppliers, and the ability to effectively team with suppliers and original equipment manufacturers. The lead will assist the maintenance staff in operational debug of machine controllers, motion systems, robotics, HMI’s, and all other related components in a timely and efficient manner. Additionally, the lead will train lesser experienced electricians and mechanics, assist engineers in machine validation, and communicate with the project team to ensure project awareness. The lead will work closely with the controls engineer to ensure schematics and backup programs are kept current. This position requires attending technical training classes and passing knowledge along to peers. The lead is expected to be a self-starter, stay focused and on task with little or no supervision, and possess the ability to conceptualize, design, build and implement simple to moderate control systems and manufacturing equipment.
Requirements
- Report directly to the Controls Engineer or Maintenance Supervisor.
- Receive direction from the director of maintenance or plant manager(s) for emergency manufacturing and maintenance support.
- Effectively represent Tarkett.
- Utilize Tarkett standard techniques and approach.
- Maintain Tarkett work ethics and standards.
- Possess the ability to conceptualize, design, build and implement simple to moderate control systems and manufacturing equipment.
Responsibilities

- Daily communication and interface with suppliers.
- Team with suppliers and original equipment manufacturers.
- Assist the maintenance staff in operational debug of machine controllers, motion systems, robotics, HMI’s, and all other related components in a timely and efficient manner.
- Train lesser experienced electricians and mechanics, thus improving the overall department skills and abilities.
- Assist the appropriate engineer in machine validation, both internally and at the customer’s facility.
- Communicate with the project “team” to ensure a constant level of project awareness.
- Work closely with the controls engineer, who is responsible for ensuring all schematics and/or back up programs of PLC’s, HMI, camera systems, etc, are kept current and correct.
- Attend certain technical training classes, as deemed necessary by the Maintenance Supervisor, Controls Engineer or Director of Maintenance, and pass this knowledge along to peers and/or electrical maintenance personnel.
- Be a self-starter, stay focused and on task with little or no supervision.
- Conceptualize, design, build and implement simple to moderate control systems and manufacturing equipment.
