As a CNC Machining Team Lead, you’ll combine technical expertise with leadership skills to guide a team of machinists across all levels. You’ll oversee daily operations, ensure production goals are met, and foster a collaborative environment focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement. You’ll also serve as the primary liaison between your team and engineering, quality, and management. This role involves setting up and operating 3 to 5 axis CNC machine tools, making offsets, testing safety features, and operating multiple production machines. You will verify product conformance through dimensional and visual inspections using various precision measuring tools. The role also includes providing training and guidance to machinists, understanding G&M-code programming, setting up complex CNC machines, and making process recommendations. You will use proper material handling techniques, maintain product specifications, follow work instructions, document measurements, use tool setters, and generate maintenance work orders. A thorough understanding of the Silfex Quality Management System is required, along with active contribution to lean initiatives and collaboration with engineering and quality control. You will serve as acting lead in the absence of your supervisor and perform other job duties as assigned.
