About The Position

Haigh-Farr is a premier antenna design, manufacturing, and test house developing products for the aerospace industry, including missions to Mars, the International Space Station, and the U.S. Military. With over 50 years of steady, planned growth, Haigh-Farr aims to further expand its team and capabilities to meet increasing demand and enter new markets and antenna technologies. The company is seeking a CNC Machinist with a strong commitment to quality work on scheduled timelines, possessing the skills to operate both HAAS mill and lathe machines.

Requirements

  • Possess a deep understanding of CNC machine operations, reading blueprints, setting up tooling, and ensuring quality control.
  • Ability to properly and safely set up/run machine shop equipment.
  • Ability to load materials, monitor the process and adjust as needed.
  • Must be able to inspect parts using typical inspection tools and techniques.
  • Attention to detail at the highest level is required.
  • Proper knowledge of feeds and speeds and proper tooling selection is required.
  • Experience in working from prints required.
  • Strong commitment to achieving quality work.
  • Team player who will pitch in where needed to get the job done.
  • Meticulous record keeping.
  • Must be organized and maintain a clean working environment.
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years Machinist experience.
  • U.S. citizenship required, with ability to possess a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong shop math skills and excellent mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong hand eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to switch tasks on the fly as production needs require.
  • Experience with Swiss CNC screw machine.
  • Higher education (beyond High School Diploma or GED).

Responsibilities

  • Properly manufacture fixtures to accommodate new products.
  • Setup and operation of HAAS 3-axis and 5-axis mill machines.
  • Setup and operation of HAAS production lathe.
  • Prove out new CNC programs and troubleshoot potential issues.
  • Inspect completed parts to ensure compliance to the drawing.
