About The Position

The Department of English at The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for full-time teaching - faculty positions (non-tenure-track). The start date for these positions is Fall 2026. Duties include teaching introductory undergraduate in-resident courses in the Program in Writing and Rhetoric. These positions will be hired at the rank of Lecturer, Assistant Teaching Professor, Associate Teaching Professor, or Teaching Professor. Lecturers and Assistant Teaching Professors teach seven courses per year; Associate Teaching Professors and Teaching Professors teach six courses per year. Onsite teaching is an essential function of this job. Requirements

  • A Master’s degree or higher in English or a related field is required by the appointment date.
  • PA State Police Criminal Background Check
  • PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form
  • Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check
