About The Position

Teaching Assistant Positions in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering for the Fall 2026 semester. These positions are open to McGill University Graduate students only. This position requires in-person work and is located in the city of Montreal. You are expected to have an address in the province of Quebec. The course is ECSE 557: Intro to Ethics of Intelligent Systems, taught by AJung Moon. There is 1 position available, with an estimated 71 hours of work per term.

Requirements

  • Public speaking ability
  • Experience in AI ethics research publication venues (e.g., AIES, FAccT conferences)
  • Knowledge of existing AI ethics frameworks, fairness toolkits, and fundamental concepts behind value-sensitive design
  • Capable of assessing submitted machine learning models and code in Python
  • Knowledge of using open weight generative AI models locally

Responsibilities

  • Design tutorial contents and questions
  • Lead weekly tutorial session
  • Tutoring and discussion related to course contents/project
  • Grading of assignments and projects
