About The Position

Teaching Assistant positions in the Department of Natural Resource Sciences at McGill University for the Fall 2026 term. These positions are contractual appointments within a unionized environment. Teaching Assistants will assist Course Supervisors in a classroom environment, working under their guidance and supervision. Duties will vary by course and will be detailed in a Workload form. Teaching Assistants must be available for the entire contract period and must be able to work on campus. While the primary mode of instruction is in-person, there is a possibility of remote teaching using virtual learning platforms if circumstances necessitate. McGill University is an English-language institution, requiring strong verbal and written English communication skills.

Requirements

  • Must be a graduate student registered at McGill University in the fall 2026 semester.
  • Must hold an undergraduate degree.
  • Must be authorized to work in Canada.
  • Must be willing to work in the province of Quebec at the campus where the position is based.
  • Must be available to work the entire contract period.
  • Must consult the fall 2026 McGill class schedule on Minerva to avoid conflicts.
  • Must be able to perform tasks in person on campus.
  • Must possess strong English communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Course Supervisor as a Teaching Assistant in a classroom environment.
  • Perform duties as outlined in the Workload form, which will be completed by the course instructor and signed by both parties.
  • Potentially perform tasks suited to a remote/online teaching environment using a virtual learning platform and the McGill myCourses learning management system.
