About The Position

This posting is for a Teaching Assistant position for the LIN4970A00 course, Field methods for phonetics and phonology, during the 2026 Fall Semester. The position is under the CUPE 2626 collective agreement. The total work hours for this position are 120. The hourly rate will be $31.89 for undergraduate students and $50.25 for graduate students (2024-2025 rates). These rates do not include vacation or statutory pay and will be applied until a new collective agreement is ratified, with retroactivity paid after ratification. The academic year runs from September 1 to August 31. The language of work is 'Other (per the course description)'. All University of Ottawa employees must complete mandatory legislated training. Requirements

Must be a native speaker of an indigenous language of the South American lowlands and speak it fluently.
Must be a native speaker of a minority language (not an official language at the national or provincial level) originating in Africa, Asia, or the Americas, and speak it fluently.
Must successfully complete all mandatory legislated training offered by the University.
Must be a student eligible under the CUPE 2626 collective agreement.
