About The Position
Brock University is seeking a Teaching Assistant for ECON 3Q91, Mathematical Methods in Economics, for the Fall 2026 semester. This position is part of the CUPE 4207-1 employee group. The role involves scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom duties such as preparing seminar materials, student consultations, marking, grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration. Compensation is based on qualifications, with an undergraduate rate of $23.30 per hour and a graduate rate of $36.67 per hour (effective September 1, 2026). Additional duties will be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate. Requirements
- Minimum of 80% in the course
- At least a fourth-year student currently enrolled in an honours program offered by the Department of Economics and in good academic standing or have already completed an equivalent degree
- Effective communication skills including the ability to explain subject material to students
- Punctual in attending classes and regular in-person meetings on campus during normal working hours
- Able to meet appropriate deadlines
