Teaching Assistant HLSC 3P97 Fall D2
About The Position
Brock University is seeking a Teaching Assistant for the HLSC 3P97 course for the Fall D2 term. This position is within the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) and involves supporting the course through scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom duties. Compensation is based on qualifications, with an undergraduate rate of $23.30 per hour and a graduate rate of $36.67 per hour (effective September 1, 2026). Additional duties will be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate. The duties and responsibilities are in accordance with Article 22 of the CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1, Collective Agreement.
Requirements
- An undergraduate degree in Health Sciences or related discipline.
- Completion of this course within the last three years.
- Effective communication skills including the ability to explain subject material to students and provide constructive feedback.
- Punctual in attending classes.
- Able to meet appropriate deadlines.
- Experience or training with synchronous and asynchronous course support.
- Proficiency with online delivery tools (e.g., Lifesize, Microsoft Teams, Brightspace), computer spreadsheets (e.g., Excel), and electronic audience response systems.
- Available to provide feedback in person and, when required, online.
Nice To Haves
- Fourth year (honours) standing students in Health Sciences or related discipline will be considered if vacancies remain.
- Experience leading seminars is an asset.
