About The Position
This position is for a Teaching Assistant for the course EAST 216: Introduction to Global Asia at McGill University for the Fall 2026 term. The role involves supporting the course instructor by facilitating discussions, grading assignments, and communicating with students. This position is open to McGill University registered graduate students in an MA or PhD program for the Fall 2026 term. Requirements
- Registered graduate student (M.A. or Ph.D.) at McGill University for the Fall 2026 term
- Must hold a B.A./B.A. Honors in Chinese Studies or Equivalent
- International students must have a valid study permit, social Insurance number (SIN), and Canadian bank account
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
Responsibilities
- Hosting and facilitating discussions in-person and/or on Zoom with small groups of students
- Grading of assignments
- Attending lectures and reading course materials
- Communication with students regarding MyCourses, submission of assignments, and other tasks associated with the position/course
Benefits
- Hourly Salary: $38.46 (effective August 2026)
- Hourly Salary: $37.34
