About The Position

The Department of Mathematics, in the Eberly College of Science, has a vacancy available for an undergraduate Teaching Assistant to act as a peer assistant for Math for Sustainability (Math 033) and to assist with grading and other aspects of course delivery during the Fall 2026 semester. The selected candidate will work up to 6 hours per week as follows: Assist students in peer instruction during class Monday/Wednesday 2:30-3:20 pm or Tuesday/Thursday 10:35-11:25, participate in weekly instructional team meetings, grade students' assignments and assist with course delivery in Canvas and hold supplemental out-of-class student support hours.

Requirements

  • Experience assisting students in mathematics at the college algebra level
  • Strong communication skills
  • Interest in topics related to sustainability
  • Successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies

Responsibilities

  • Act as a peer assistant for Math for Sustainability (Math 033)
