About The Position
AoPS Academy San Diego is seeking a Language Arts Teaching Assistant to support student learning and foster an engaging, collaborative classroom environment. This role involves assisting instructors with curriculum, providing one-on-one student support, helping with classroom management for up to 16 students, grading assignments, and building positive relationships with students and staff to encourage academic growth and critical thinking.
Requirements
- Must be 16 years old or older
- Possess strong language arts skills with the ability to help students navigate advanced concepts
- Exceptional written and spoken communication
- Positive and encouraging attitude that helps students feel comfortable asking questions
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US
Nice To Haves
- Experience with/interest in working with younger students strongly preferred
- Familiarity with the AoPS curriculum is a plus
Responsibilities
- Assist instructors with company-created curriculum and materials.
- Help advanced students grasp complex concepts.
- Work one-on-one with students during class activities.
- Provide additional help to students when needed.
- Help maintain an organized learning environment.
- Assist in managing up to 16 students.
- Assist with grading and providing constructive feedback on student work.
- Connect with students and staff members to encourage their learning journey and academic growth.
- Help create an environment that promotes critical thinking and academic curiosity.
