About The Position
AoPS Academy San Diego is seeking a Language Arts Teaching Assistant to support student learning and contribute to an engaging, collaborative classroom environment. This role involves assisting instructors with curriculum, providing one-on-one student support, helping maintain classroom organization, grading assignments, and fostering a positive learning atmosphere that encourages critical thinking and academic curiosity.
Requirements
- Must be 16 years old or older.
- Possess strong language arts skills with the ability to help students navigate advanced concepts.
- Candidates must be located in San Diego, CA or the greater area and must be able to commute to our campus.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with/interest in working with younger students strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with the AoPS curriculum is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Assist instructors with company-created curriculum and materials.
- Help advanced students grasp complex concepts.
- Work one-on-one with students during class activities and provide additional help when needed.
- Help maintain an organized learning environment.
- Assist in managing up to 16 students.
- Assist with grading and providing constructive feedback on student work.
- Connect with students and staff members to encourage their learning journey and academic growth.
- Help create an environment that promotes critical thinking and academic curiosity.
