About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for a Teaching Assistant position in the IENG 3P11 course for the Winter D3 term. Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to the qualifications that the employee holds. Employees who do NOT hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate - $23.30 per hour. Employees who hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate - $36.67 per hour. In cases where additional duties are required as part of a Teaching Assistant’s duties, these hours shall be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate. The duties and responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant shall be in accordance with Article 22 of the CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1, Collective Agreement. These are made up of scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (including preparation of seminar material, student consultation, marking or grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration as may be required.

Requirements

Proficient in Python and familiar with Jupyter Notebooks or Google Colab
Experience with AI/ML libraries: scikit-learn, PyTorch or TensorFlow
Solid understanding of core ML concepts (e.g., Regression, probabilistic methods, classification, clustering, supervised, unsupervised, neural networks, and reinforcement learning)
Strong communication and troubleshooting skills
Proficient in MATLAB and its Toolboxes
