Teaching Assistant ECON 1P91 Winter D3
About The Position
Brock University is seeking a Teaching Assistant for ECON 1P91 (Principles of Microeconomics) for the Winter D3 term. This position is within the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group. Compensation will be based on the employee's qualifications, with an undergraduate rate of $23.30 per hour and a graduate rate of $36.67 per hour (effective September 1, 2026). Additional duties will be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate. The duties include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time such as preparing seminar material, student consultation, marking, grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration.
Requirements
- Achieved a minimum of 80% in the course
- At least a fourth-year student currently enrolled in an honours program offered by the Department of Economics and in good academic standing or have already completed an equivalent degree
- Effective communication skills including the ability to explain subject material to students
- Punctual in attending classes and regular in-person meetings on campus during normal working hours
- Able to meet appropriate deadlines
