Teaching Assistant ECON 3Q91 Winter D3
About The Position
Brock University is seeking a Teaching Assistant for ECON 3Q91 for the Winter D3 term. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group. Compensation will be based on the employee's qualifications, with an undergraduate rate of $23.30 per hour and a graduate rate of $36.67 per hour (effective September 1, 2026). Additional duties will be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate. The duties and responsibilities are in accordance with Article 22 of the CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1, Collective Agreement, and include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time such as preparation of seminar material, student consultation, marking or grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration.
Requirements
- Applicants must have achieved a minimum of 80% in the course
- Applicants must be at least a fourth-year student currently enrolled in an honours program offered by the Department of Economics and in good academic standing or have already completed an equivalent degree
- Effective communication skills including the ability to explain subject material to students
- Punctual in attending classes and regular in-person meetings on campus during normal working hours
- Able to meet appropriate deadlines
