Teaching Assistant STAT 3P86 Fall D2
About The Position
This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for a Teaching Assistant in STAT 3P86 Applied Multivariate Statistics for the Fall D2 term. Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to the qualifications the employee holds. Employees who do NOT hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate of $23.30 per hour (effective September 1, 2026). Employees who hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate of $36.67 per hour (effective September 1, 2026). In cases where additional duties are required, these hours shall be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate.
Requirements
- Achieved a minimum of 80% in the course
- At least third- or fourth-year students currently enrolled in an STAT DEGREE, or who have completed an STAT DEGREE or equivalent
- Effective communication skills including the ability to explain subject material to students
- Punctual in attending classes
- Able to meet appropriate deadlines
Responsibilities
- Scheduled contact time with students
- Preparation of seminar material
- Student consultation
- Marking or grading
- Examination proctoring
- Attending lectures
- Holding office hours
- Other course administration as may be required
