About The Position

The Expedition School is seeking a long term teaching assistant substitute for the Kindergarten class from January through March of 2027. This role involves supporting students in various capacities, including working with small groups and individuals, supervising transitions, organizing materials, and potentially covering classes when a teacher is absent and no other substitute is available. The position requires a flexible, caring individual with a growth mindset who can collaborate effectively with staff and implement positive classroom management techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Photocopying
  • Working with small groups of students
  • Working one-on-one with a student
  • Supervising the transition of students to and from special classes
  • Organizing learning materials
  • Covering a class in the event a teacher needs to step out
  • Substitute teach a class in the event a teacher is absent and another substitute teacher is not available
