About The Position
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at The University of Alabama is seeking to hire a non-tenure-track, renewable contract faculty member at the rank of Teaching Assistant Professor. This position is open to exceptional applicants who are passionate about teaching and curriculum development across the broad field of mechanical engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching core lecture classes, unit operations laboratory, and/or senior design courses, along with fulfilling appropriate service roles within the department.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in mechanical engineering or a closely related field from an accredited institution by the date of appointment.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in high-speed flow diagnostics
- Experience in thermodynamics
- Experience in heat transfer
- Experience in real time control systems
- Experience in robotics and AI methods applied to optimization of control systems
- Experience in smart manufacturing systems, including Industrial Internet of Things, Industry 4.0, CAD/CAM, metrology and systems optimization.
Responsibilities
