The Department of Aerospace Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University is inviting applications for two full-time, non-tenure-line, professional track teaching faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor. Successful candidates will be responsible for teaching in-person courses within the undergraduate and graduate programs at the University Park campus, providing student academic advising, and engaging in course and curricular design. They may also support academic administration during both the academic year and the summer. Additionally, these positions require providing specific expertise to the department’s academic programs and sponsored research in areas of particular need. One position requires expertise in Space Systems (astronautics, orbital mechanics, space mission design and analysis, space system design), while the second requires expertise in dynamics, control and vehicle autonomy for aircraft and spacecraft, avionics, robotics, and advanced computing in aerospace, including real-time control and flight testing. The department aims to support its growing enrollment and research programs while maintaining a personal touch and hands-on experiences in its undergraduate program, and addressing critical gaps in graduate instruction and research expertise.
