About The Position

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is inviting applications for a faculty teaching position. This opening is for a Teaching Assistant Professor, with an initial term of three years starting in the spring semester of 2027, and is renewable upon review. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate physics, primarily introductory courses in large-enrollment settings, and will also participate in the administrative tasks associated with these large-enrollment courses as part of a team of educators.

Requirements

  • PhD in Physics or a closely related field
  • Experience in teaching at the college level

  • Proven ability to engage students in the learning process

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate physics, primarily at the introductory level in a large-enrollment setting
