About The Position

This position is for a Teaching Assistant/Demonstrator/Lab Monitor for the Waves and Optics Laboratory course (PHY2711/PHY2311) during the Fall 2026 semester. The role involves assisting students with laboratory experiments, preparing and presenting demonstrations, grading assignments and tests, and holding office hours. The total work hours are 130, with specific allocations for preparation, contact with students, and grading. The hiring process will follow the CUPE 2626 collective agreement. Requirements

  • B. Sc. in Physics
  • 35 hours of grading assignments, tests, and midterm
  • 75 hours of contact with students, including presenting lab demonstrations
  • 16 hours of preparation for lab experiments
  • 10 hours of other tasks, including helping students and office hours
  • 4 hours of proctoring final exam
