About The Position

This posting is for a Teaching Assistant (TA) position for the Laboratory of Organic Chemistry II (CHM2523) course, Section LAB, during the Fall 2026 semester. The role involves assisting students in the laboratory and elsewhere, correcting lab reports and tests, proctoring midterms and a final exam, and ensuring safety directives are followed in the lab. The position is classified under CUPE (Canadian Union of Public Employees).

Requirements

• Successful completion of one year of general chemistry.
• Successful completion of one year of organic chemistry.
• Successful completion of CHM 3520 or its equivalent.
• Must have successfully completed workshops on the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
• Successful completion of Whimis and Occupational Health and Safety workshops.
• All persons who are not graduate students in chemistry must pass a test to qualify.

Responsibilities
