About The Position

This position is for a Teaching Assistant (TA) for the PRINCIPLES OF CHEMISTRY course (CHM1311D) during the 2026 Fall Semester. The TA will be responsible for giving tutorials, preparing them, proctoring a final exam, and holding office hours with students. The role involves 65 total work hours, with specific allocations for preparation (21 hours) and contact with students (40 hours). The hiring process will be governed by the CUPE 2626 collective agreement. Requirements

  • B.Sc.
  • 1 full year of general chemistry
  • 1 full year of organic chemistry
  • CHM 2454
  • CHM 2131/2132 or their equivalents
  • Successful completion of WHIMIS and Occupational Health and Safety workshops
  • All those who are not a Chemistry graduate student will be required to write a test to qualify (unless already done in previous semester)
  • All University of Ottawa employees are required under provincial law to successfully complete all mandatory legislated training offered by the University.
