About The Position

This posting is for a Teaching Assistant position for the DVM1100 course, "Canada and the Challenges of International Development and Globalization," during the Fall 2026 semester. The course, with an expected enrollment of 244 students, will be offered in person. The teaching assistant duties will involve a combination of tasks such as facilitating discussions, marking papers and exams, personal consultation with students, and proctoring. The academic year runs from September 1 to August 31, with this specific work period from September 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026. The total work hours are 117. The hourly rate depends on student status: undergraduate students will be paid $31.89/hour, and graduate students will be paid $50.25/hour (2024-2025 rates, subject to collective agreement ratification and potential retroactivity). These rates do not include vacation or statutory pay. The language of work is English. The hiring process will be governed by the CUPE 2626 collective agreement.
