About The Position

This position is for a Teaching Assistant (TA) for the Fundamentals of Physics 1 - In-Class Demonstrations course (PHY1121) during the Fall 2026 semester. The TA will be responsible for preparing and developing demonstrations, presenting these demonstrations in class, and proctoring assignments, tests, midterms, and a final exam. All university employees must complete mandatory legislated training. The hiring process will follow the CUPE 2626 collective agreement. Requirements

  • Completion of 3 years of university level physics.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and developing demonstrations with the help of a laboratory technician (60 hours).
  • Presenting demonstrations in class (66 hours).
  • Proctoring of assignments, tests, midterms, and a final exam (4 hours).
  • Proctoring of a final exam will be assigned by the Faculty of Science.
