About The Position

This posting is for a Teaching Assistant position for the Molecular Determinants of Health and Longevity course (HSS4112 Section A) during the 2025 Fall Semester. The role involves assisting the professor with course-related tasks, including grading assignments and exams, proctoring exams, and potentially holding office hours to address student inquiries. The course is hybrid, requiring the TA to have access to a computer, internet, microphone, and webcam, and to come to campus occasionally. The hiring process will follow the CUPE 2626 collective agreement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor, MSc or PhD in Health Sciences or equivalent
  • Very good English writing skills to accurately mark essays and long answers on exams
  • Experience with online learning programs and software (as a teaching assistant)
  • Experience with web software (uploading content, programming content)
  • Access to a computer, Internet, microphone and webcam
  • Ability to come to campus occasionally

Responsibilities

  • Help with correction of the assignments and exams
  • Proctoring of exams
  • Hold in-person or online office hours to assist professor with addressing student inquiries and concerns outside of class times
  • Correction of the final exam
