About The Position
This position is for a Teaching Assistant for the course HSS 6103 A00: Qualitative Research Methods and Analysis in Health Sciences (1.5 units) during the Fall 2026 semester. The role involves assisting the professor with marking assignments and exams, proctoring exams, and potentially holding office hours to address student inquiries. The course is offered in a hybrid format, requiring the TA to have access to a computer, internet, microphone, and webcam, and to come to campus occasionally. This contract includes hours for supervision and marking of the final exam. The academic year runs from September 1 to August 31.
Requirements
- MSc or PhD in Health Sciences or equivalent
- Very good English writing skills to accurately mark essays and long answers on assessments
- Experience with online learning programs and software (as a teaching assistant)
- Experience with web software (uploading content, programming content)
- Experience conducting qualitative research
- Experience with qualitative data analysis and associated management software
- Access to a computer, Internet, microphone and webcam
- Ability to come to campus occasionally
Responsibilities
- Help with marking of assignments and exams
- Proctoring of exams
- May be required to hold office hours to assist professor with addressing student inquiries and concerns outside of class times
