About The Position

Discovery Learning Center (DLC) at Parc Center for Disabilities is seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated Classroom Teacher who is passionate about early childhood education and inclusion. This role is for a full-time Floater position, working Monday through Friday. The Discovery Learning Center is a warm, inclusive preschool serving children ages 2 months to 5 years, including children with diverse abilities. The position offers a meaningful role where your work truly impacts children and families every day.

Requirements

Formal early childhood education: 45 clock hours, or will have within 30 days.
Minimum 1 year of experience working with young children.
Experience supporting children with disabilities in an educational or childcare setting.
Valid Florida Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
Ability to meet physical demands of the role (standing, lifting up to 50 lbs., active supervision).
Level II Background Check required.
Screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.

Responsibilities

Nurture each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development through engaging and developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
Create a welcoming, inclusive classroom environment where every child feels safe, supported, and valued.
Plan and lead engaging lessons using the Creative Curriculum, including music, art, sensory play, and hands-on learning.
Support children with diverse needs using positive behavior support strategies.
Track developmental progress using Teaching Strategies Gold.
Build strong partnerships with families through open communication and conferences.
Maintain accurate documentation and records to support individualized learning.
Collaborate with fellow teachers, therapists, and leadership as part of a mission-driven team.
Follow Pinellas County Childcare Licensing Standards and all safety requirements.
