About The Position

Discovery Learning Center (DLC) at Parc Center for Disabilities is seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated Classroom Teacher who is passionate about early childhood education and inclusion. This role is for a full-time Floater position, working Monday through Friday. The Discovery Learning Center is a warm, inclusive preschool serving children ages 2 months to 5 years, including children with diverse abilities. The position offers a meaningful role where your work truly impacts children and families every day.

Requirements

  • Formal early childhood education: 45 clock hours, or will have within 30 days.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with young children.
  • Experience supporting children with disabilities in an educational or childcare setting.
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the role (standing, lifting up to 50 lbs., active supervision).
  • Level II Background Check required.
  • Screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.

Responsibilities

  • Nurture each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development through engaging and developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
  • Create a welcoming, inclusive classroom environment where every child feels safe, supported, and valued.
  • Plan and lead engaging lessons using the Creative Curriculum, including music, art, sensory play, and hands-on learning.
  • Support children with diverse needs using positive behavior support strategies.
  • Track developmental progress using Teaching Strategies Gold.
  • Build strong partnerships with families through open communication and conferences.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records to support individualized learning.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers, therapists, and leadership as part of a mission-driven team.
  • Follow Pinellas County Childcare Licensing Standards and all safety requirements.
