About The Position
Discovery Learning Center (DLC) at Parc Center for Disabilities is seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated Classroom Teacher who is passionate about early childhood education and inclusion. This role is on-site and full-time, with working hours from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The Discovery Learning Center is a warm, inclusive preschool serving children ages 2 months to 5 years, including children with diverse abilities. The teacher will help nurture each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development through engaging and developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
Requirements
- Formal early childhood education
- 45 clock hours, or will have within 30 days
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with young children
- Experience supporting children with disabilities in an educational or childcare setting
- Valid Florida Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to meet physical demands of the role (standing, lifting up to 50 lbs., active supervision)
- Level II Background Check required
- Drug-Free Workplace

Responsibilities
- Creating a welcoming, inclusive classroom environment where every child feels safe, supported, and valued
- Planning and leading engaging lessons using the Creative Curriculum, including music, art, sensory play, and hands-on learning
- Supporting children with diverse needs using positive behavior support strategies
- Tracking developmental progress using Teaching Strategies Gold
- Building strong partnerships with families through open communication and conferences
- Maintaining accurate documentation and records to support individualized learning
- Collaborating with fellow teachers, therapists, and leadership as part of a mission-driven team
- Following Pinellas County Childcare Licensing Standards and all safety requirements
