Floater Teacher
About The Position
Birch Tree Academy is a STEM-based preschool that emphasizes academic development, discovery, and exploration of science, building, and everyday wonders. We are looking for a floater teacher with great enthusiasm, patience, and a caring, kind heart. This role involves collaborating with the lead teacher and leading the class in all ways. Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must have ability to meet state and/or accreditation requirements for education and experience
- Must have CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain
- Must have impeccable references and a proven track record of caring and nurturing children
- Must have excellent organizational skills

Responsibilities
- Help teach a class of 12 students
- Work a full-time schedule (40 hours a week)
- Help plan and teach daily activities and lessons that correspond with the curriculum
- Help promote multi-cultural education
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment
- Help students learn classroom rules and procedures, as well as personal responsibility and respect for fellow students
- Use appropriate behavior management and classroom discipline
- Attend to children's basic needs which might including: feeding them, dressing them, etc
- Supervise class projects, field trips and visits by guest teachers
- Establish consistent communication with parents and children
- Write weekly class and individual student updates to parents
