About The Position

The Floater Teacher is responsible for supporting a team approach to planning and implementing program activities. This role collaborates with Family Support Workers, Teachers, Program Aides, site partners, and site supervisors to enhance the classroom and support families. The position involves ongoing CLASS implementation and monitoring, guiding children's activities, ensuring appropriate guidance and discipline, and maintaining proper child-to-staff ratios. The Floater Teacher is expected to build and maintain positive relationships with parents, volunteers, and other staff members. A key responsibility is ensuring the curriculum is implemented with fidelity, including the submission of weekly lesson plans with individualization for all children, and monitoring/facilitating accommodations for IEPs and IFSPs. Active supervision is required to ensure child safety in all environments, including transitions, transportation, and the playground. The role also involves adhering to agency fiscal policies and participating in program recruitment to maintain full enrollment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education
  • Minimum Associate's degree in a related field degree and 20 hours of coursework in Early Childhood Education/Child Development
  • Gateways Level 4

Responsibilities

  • Supporting a team approach to planning and implementing program activities.
  • Collaborating with Family Support Workers, Teacher’s, Program Aide, site partners, and site supervisor for the betterment of the classroom and families.
  • Participating in ongoing CLASS implementation and monitoring.
  • Guiding and facilitating activities of the children and ensures appropriate child guidance and discipline and proper ratios are maintained at all times.
  • Building and ensuring positive and on-going relationships with parents, volunteers, and other staff members.
  • Ensuring the curriculum is used to fidelity and that submission of weekly lesson plans including individualization for all children, including: monitoring and facilitating accommodations listed in IEPs and IFSPs.
  • Providing active supervision to ensure the safety of children while in the classroom, during transitions, at time of transportation, and while on the playground. Ensures that no child shall be left alone or unsupervised.
  • Ensuring agency’s fiscal integrity by adhering to purchase approval requirements and procedures.
  • Participating in program recruitment efforts to maintain full enrollment.
