About The Position
LeafSpring School is seeking a full-time Teacher to work with children ages 6 weeks to 1 year. The Teacher supervises and manages a primary care group of four children and plans, implements, and supervises the classroom’s daily program in accordance with the philosophy of LeafSpring School. The role incorporates age-appropriate growth and development principles and developmentally appropriate practices into daily lesson plans. The health and safety of each child are priorities, and the Teacher must follow state, accrediting-body, and LeafSpring School criteria. The schedule may be four 10-hour days with one business day off or five days per week. The posting lists 8-hour and 10-hour shifts and states there are no nights or weekends. Salary starts at $15.50 per hour and is based on experience and education.
Requirements
- High school diploma; the posting also lists high school or equivalent as preferred in the education section.
- At least six months of experience working with young children in an accredited child care facility.
- One year of childcare experience is listed as required in the experience section.
- Ability to work well with children, their families, and teachers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Nice To Haves
- A degree or degree-seeking status in early childhood education, special education, child development, or another child-related field.
- A current CDA certificate.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage a primary care group of four children, with the broader responsibility listing supervision of four or more children depending on the classroom.
- Prioritize and ensure the health and safety of each child.
- Plan, implement, and supervise the daily classroom program in accordance with LeafSpring School’s philosophy.
- Incorporate age-appropriate growth and development principles and developmentally appropriate practice into daily lesson plans.
- Adhere to state, accrediting-body, and LeafSpring School criteria.
