About The Position

KIPP St. Louis is hosting an On-the-Spot Hiring Day for teaching positions. This event allows candidates to meet directly with school leaders, interview for open roles, and potentially receive a same-day job offer. KIPP St. Louis is a network of free, open-enrollment, public charter schools dedicated to providing joyful, academically excellent education to prepare students for college, career, and beyond. The network currently educates over 2,000 students and will grow to educate nearly 3,600 students. KIPP St. Louis believes in supporting educators to help students achieve academic excellence and build the skills and confidence needed for success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related content area.
  • Valid Missouri Teacher Certification.
  • Demonstrated commitment to improving outcomes for historically underserved students.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • For Special Education Teachers: K-12 Cross Categorical/ Mid Mod certification.
  • For Long-Term Substitute Teachers: 60 college credits (preferred) and Missouri Substitute Certification (REQUIRED).
  • For Long-Term Substitute Teachers: Experience substituting or working with the youth.

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned grade level and subject matter.
  • Inspire students and help them discover the joy of learning.
  • Build skills and confidence in students.
  • Collaborate with families and communities.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development.
  • Attend employee recognition events.
  • Fulfill duties related to paid leave for illness, personal days, bereavement, jury duty, and military-related leave.
  • Provide paid parental leave for new families.
  • Observe paid holidays and breaks including Thanksgiving, winter, and spring breaks.
  • Utilize wellness days.
