About The Position

KIPP St. Louis is seeking passionate educators for their On-the-Spot Hiring Day event. This is an opportunity to interview directly with school leaders for various teaching positions, including Elementary, Middle School, High School, Special Education, and Long-Term Substitute roles. Qualified candidates may receive a same-day job offer. KIPP St. Louis is part of a national network of free, open-enrollment, public charter schools committed to academic excellence and preparing students for college, career, and beyond. They currently educate over 2,000 students and aim to educate nearly 3,600 at full growth, with a network spanning PreK-12th grade.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related content area (for K-12 General Education and Special Education Teachers).
  • Valid Missouri Teacher Certification (for K-12 General Education Teachers).
  • K-12 Cross Categorical/ Mid Mod certification (for Special Education Teachers).
  • 60 college credits (preferred) and Missouri Substitute Certification (REQUIRED) (for Long-Term Substitute Teachers).
  • Demonstrated commitment to improving outcomes for historically underserved students.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience substituting or working with youth (for Long-Term Substitute Teachers).

Responsibilities

  • Teach students in various grade levels and subjects, including Elementary (K-5), Middle School (English, Math, Science), High School (Algebra I, Geometry), and Special Education (K-12).
  • Serve as a Long-Term Substitute Teacher (K-12).
  • Inspire students and help them discover the joy of learning.
  • Help students achieve academic excellence and build the skills and confidence they need to succeed.
  • Collaborate with families and communities to create joyful, academically excellent schools.
  • Contribute to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment for all students, families, teachers, staff, and community members.
