About The Position

Under the supervision of the Principal, the Grade 2 Teacher plans, organizes, and implements an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and reach their full potential. The teacher instructs students according to the appropriate curriculum, including assessment and review processes, and maintains records of student achievement and abilities.

Requirements

• Must hold or be eligible for a Virginia teaching license with the appropriate endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students according to the appropriate curriculum, including assessment and review processes.
• Plan, develop, write, and implement lesson plans in keeping with school district and state education requirements.
• Keep records of student achievement and track students’ abilities.
• Work collaboratively with staff and other teachers.
• Comply with and enforce school rules and school board policies and procedures.
• Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on committees as appropriate.
• Perform other school duties and assignments as appointed.
