About The Position

LearnWell is dedicated to improving the lives of students facing behavioral health challenges by providing on-site educational services in hospitals. For over 26 years, the organization has supported school-age patients in continuing their education during treatment and successfully reintegrating into traditional classrooms. With a network of more than 200 educators, LearnWell aims to create a lasting positive impact. The company is currently seeking a passionate and creative full-time teacher for the upcoming school year in Summit, NJ. This role involves working within a fast-paced behavioral health facility, offering academic support to child and adolescent patients in a small classroom setting while they undergo treatment. The teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering daily lesson plans, providing individualized student assistance, communicating student progress, adjusting teaching strategies for success, and maintaining accurate attendance and session reports. Class sizes typically range from 8 to 15 students. This is a 40-hour per week commitment, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Requirements

• B.A/B.S. degree from an accredited institution
• NJ Standard teaching license (CE and CEAS do not meet the requirements)
• Comfortable working with K-12 students
• Strong organizational skills
• Understanding of subject matter relevant to student needs
• Reliable Transportation

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver daily lesson plans
• Provide individualized assistance to students
• Regularly communicate about student progress as needed
• Monitor and adjust teaching strategies to ensure student success
• Maintain accurate attendance and session reports
