About The Position

The Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking a full-time, hourly Early Learning Teacher who is passionate about helping children learn, connecting with the community, and supporting children and their families. The role involves creating an engaging, sensitive, patient, safe, and child-centered learning environment; planning age-appropriate curricula; supervising children; and maintaining a healthy childcare environment. Requirements

• Proof of an achieved degree from an accredited college or university in education or a human services-related field, as defined by the appropriate state licensing agency.
• At least 2 years (2,500 hours) of childcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Find new and engaging ways to help children learn.
• Be patient and kind with parents.
• Serve as a role model and make a positive, lasting difference in the lives of children and their families.
• Cultivate a sensitive, patient early learning environment for children and families.
• Plan and implement dynamic curricula that provide fun, child-centered, age-appropriate lessons.
• Supervise each child by identifying, seeing, hearing, directing, and assisting them, while ensuring a safe environment.
• Follow YMCA, state, and Quality Rating Systems policies and guidelines to support quality childcare.
• Maintain a healthy environment through light cleaning and support children's personal care routines.
