About The Position

The Teacher - Early Learning plans and delivers engaging, child-centered, age-appropriate learning experiences in a safe and supportive environment. The role supports children’s development and families, maintains a healthy classroom environment, and follows YMCA, state, and quality rating system policies and guidelines. The position is full-time and hourly, with a stated pay range of $17.00–$18.00.

Requirements

• Proof of an achieved degree from an accredited college or university in education or a human services-related field, as defined by the appropriate state licensing agency.
• At least 2 years (2,500 hours) of childcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Find new and engaging ways to help children learn.
• Interact patiently and kindly with parents.
• Serve as a role model and make a positive, lasting difference in the lives of children and their families.
• Cultivate a sensitive, patient early learning environment for children and families.
• Plan and implement dynamic curricula with fun, child-centered, age-appropriate lessons.
• Supervise each child by identifying, seeing, hearing, directing, and assisting, while ensuring a safe environment.
• Uphold YMCA, state, and Quality Rating Systems policies and guidelines for quality childcare.
• Maintain a healthy environment through light cleaning and support children’s personal care routines.
