About The Position

Victory Learning Center programs offer specialized educational services for students who are diagnosed with Autism or a Cognitive Disability paired with a mental-health diagnosis. There are two separate sites conveniently located in Lackawanna, NY, with a third opening in September 2026. Our sites service students ages 5-21, who are residentially placed or are referred through their local school district's Committee on Special Education.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Education required, Master’s Degree preferred
3-5 years’ experience with individuals with developmental disabilities.
Previous working experience working with Autistic clients preferred, but not required.
NYS Teaching Certification in Special Education must be obtained within one year
Physical Education & Health Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred
1-2 years working with individuals with Autism, Intellectual Disability, and/or mental health involvement and 1-2 years teaching experience
NYS Teaching Certification in Physical Education
Bachelor's Degree
NYS Teacher Certification in Music Education
Bachelor's Degree in Art Education
NYS Teacher Certification in Art
Master’s Degree in Speech/Language Pathology/Communication Disorders
1-2 years of experience is required
Teacher of Speech and Hearing Handicapped Certification in NYS
Valid NYS SLP Licensure
Valid NYS Driver’s License

Responsibilities

Plans and provides for appropriate learning experiences for students with Autism, Intellectual Disability, and/or mental illness in a variety of educational settings.
Responsible for creation and oversight of an instructional environment utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis methodology.
Responsible for creating flexible program and learnings environment that provides specialized activities in physical education for students with disabilities.
Responsible for creating flexible program and learnings environment that provides specialized activities in Music for students with disabilities.
Responsible for creating flexible program and learnings environment that provides specialized activities in Art for students with disabilities.
Provide speech/language therapy services to individuals with Autism, Intellectual Disability and/or mental illness as outlined in their Individual Education Plan.
Services are to be provided in accordance with New York State practice act guidelines for Speech/Language Therapy Services, the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association as well as in accordance with all company, state and federal standards and regulations; as well as within all regulations and requirements set forth by the organizations with which the company collaborates.
