About The Position

Victory Learning Center programs offer specialized educational services for students who are diagnosed with Autism or a Cognitive Disability paired with a mental-health diagnosis. There are two separate sites conveniently located in Lackawanna, NY, with a third opening in September 2026. Our sites service students ages 5-21, who are residentially placed or are referred through their local school district's Committee on Special Education.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education required, Master’s Degree preferred
  • 3-5 years’ experience with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Previous working experience working with Autistic clients preferred, but not required.
  • NYS Teaching Certification in Special Education must be obtained within one year
  • Physical Education & Health Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred
  • 1-2 years working with individuals with Autism, Intellectual Disability, and/or mental health involvement and 1-2 years teaching experience
  • NYS Teaching Certification in Physical Education
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • NYS Teacher Certification in Music Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Art Education
  • NYS Teacher Certification in Art
  • Master’s Degree in Speech/Language Pathology/Communication Disorders
  • 1-2 years of experience is required
  • Teacher of Speech and Hearing Handicapped Certification in NYS
  • Valid NYS SLP Licensure
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License

Nice To Haves

  • Previous working experience working with Autistic clients preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and provides for appropriate learning experiences for students with Autism, Intellectual Disability, and/or mental illness in a variety of educational settings.
  • Responsible for creation and oversight of an instructional environment utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis methodology.
  • Responsible for creating flexible program and learnings environment that provides specialized activities in physical education for students with disabilities.
  • Responsible for creating flexible program and learnings environment that provides specialized activities in Music for students with disabilities.
  • Responsible for creating flexible program and learnings environment that provides specialized activities in Art for students with disabilities.
  • Provide speech/language therapy services to individuals with Autism, Intellectual Disability and/or mental illness as outlined in their Individual Education Plan.
  • Services are to be provided in accordance with New York State practice act guidelines for Speech/Language Therapy Services, the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association as well as in accordance with all company, state and federal standards and regulations; as well as within all regulations and requirements set forth by the organizations with which the company collaborates.
