The Special Education Teacher is responsible for providing instruction to students with special needs and will maintain required paperwork at federal, State, and local levels. This role involves creating a respectful learning environment, planning and implementing instructional programs, consulting with regular education teachers, serving as a case manager, coordinating evaluations, and developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The teacher will also monitor student progress, collaborate on behavior support plans, manage paperwork, and work as part of a school team to implement Multi-Tiered Instruction (MTI). Effective communication with staff, parents, and guardians is essential, as is the ability to manage classroom behavior and utilize technology. Professional growth and attendance at meetings are also key aspects of the position.
