Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education or Special Education.
  • Valid Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, staff, and administration.
  • Commitment to professional growth and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Providing Specially Designed Instruction (SDI) to students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Collaborating with general education teachers, school psychologists, reading specialists, speech and hearing specialists, and administration to develop integrated support plans for students in their least restrictive environments.
  • Creating a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
  • Guiding students toward curriculum goals by establishing clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects, and communicating those objectives to students.
  • Writing Review of Existing Data (RED) reports and Individualized Education Plans for students.
  • Conducting IEP meetings and Review of Existing Data meetings with student families.
  • Maintaining accurate, complete, and compliant records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
  • Encouraging students to set and maintain high standards of classroom behavior.
