About The Position

This is a leave replacement position for a Special Education Resource Teacher. The role involves working with students with special needs, modifying curriculum, and providing individualized instruction based on IEP goals. The teacher will be responsible for creating a nurturing and supportive classroom environment, managing the classroom effectively, and collaborating with school staff, parents, and administrators. Knowledge of NJSLS and NJSLA is required, as is computer literacy and the ability to use interactive computer instructional software. The position is pending budget availability and is open for ten days or until filled.

Requirements

  • Must hold appropriate New Jersey instructional certificate for the position and a Students with Disabilities Certification or Teacher of the Handicapped Certification
  • Experience working with students with special needs
  • Ability to modify curriculum and provide individualized instruction based upon IEP goals and objectives
  • Ability to motivate and work in teams to achieve academic expectations
  • Able to work collaboratively with school leaders and school staff to collect, analyze, and use data to continuously modify the instructional program
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, with students, staff, parents, administrators, and the community
  • Ability to provide a nurturing, supportive and positive classroom climate that encourages student responsibility, using positive motivation, clear classroom routines and effective classroom management skills
  • Knowledge of the NJSLS and NJSLA
  • Must be a critical thinker, problem solver, and respect others
  • Must be computer literate and able to use interactive computer instructional software
  • Excellent classroom management
