About The Position

This position provides engaging and effective science instruction to middle school students, fostering inquiry-based learning, critical thinking, collaboration, and a positive, inclusive, student-centered classroom. The role plans and delivers instruction aligned with the board-approved curriculum, adapts teaching to students’ needs, interests, and abilities, and uses data to guide instruction and assessment. The teacher collaborates with administrators, colleagues, families, and the community to support student success; maintains student records and classroom expectations; and participates in professional development and school activities. This posting is a general talent pool rather than an application for a specific active opening. Applications may be circulated among school buildings with a vacancy in this area, and submitting an application does not guarantee an interview. The position reports to the Building Principal and Assistant Principal and supervises no one. It is benefits-eligible, except for retirees. The work environment is generally consistent with a typical office environment, with occasional outdoor work in temperatures below freezing or above 100 degrees. Irregular or extended hours are frequent, and weekend or evening hours are common.
